2004 National Reader’s Choice romantic suspense
"SARAH’S SECRETS is a
fantastic suspense story, with threads of romance and family. Sarah has suffered
a great deal at the expense of her hometown. Her secrets are there to protect
Jeremy, but also her heart. Royce is haunted with inner demons he has been
battling ever since his job as an FBI agent. The last thing he wants to do is
make another promise to a child. However, his feelings take a sharp change for
both Jeremy and Sarah; he is surprised at the level of his feelings for both of
them. It was good to read a dark hero who was able to recognize that giving up
is no way to live.
Lisa Childs is a new author to me. However,
SARAH’S SECRETS was so enjoyable,
that I will be looking for more titles from her. "

"Royce “The Tracker” Graham was called to his godfather’s bedside. Bart McCarthy
had surprised a burglar breaking into his den and had been shot. But he didn’t
see who the person was. The thief cleaned out Bart’s safe----money, will,
everything.
Royce’s father Donald was Bart’s business partner. Bart was calling for Royce;
he needed to talk to him alone. Bart told Royce that he wanted him to find
Sarah…Sarah Mars as he loses consciousness. Royce would find her if she was to
be found, because he wasn’t called “The Tracker” for nothing.
Widowed Sarah Mars Hutchins was building a new home for herself and her son

Sarah was a gold digger because she had married a much older man. As Sarah was
leaving the construction site of the new house she found a note in the front
seat of her car saying, “We have your son!”
Royce’s followed the trail to Winter Falls, where the town Sheriff Dylan
Matthews was his old friend. Before Royce can ask about Sarah Mars, a woman
comes to the soccer practice, she was upset over something. She goes to one of
the boys on the field and hugs him. Royce finds out the woman is Sarah
Mars-Hutchins. Dylan is also Jeremy’s uncle.
When Sarah’s son is almost kidnapped several times, Royce begins to think that
he may have bought danger to Sarah and her son. Royce’s goal is to get Sarah to
go with him to Milwaukee to see Bart who was in a coma. The kidnapper called
saying “The Tracker” wouldn’t be able to stop them soon. Who could be
terrorizing Sarah and how was it tied to Bart McCarty? Will Royce be able to
protect Sarah and Jeremy for this unknown danger? As Sarah and Royce fight their
Lisa Childs writes a story of intrigue and mystery. As I read Sarah and Royce’s
story I was on the edge of my seat, trying to stay ahead of the people who were
trying to cause Sarah and Jeremy harm. I was pulled into this story from the
first page until the end of the book. This book will join the ones on my keeper
shelf. Pickup a copy of this book, settle back in your favorite chair and
enjoy." --Helen Slifer - Writers Unlimited
